Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Vicenza (4-20) was outplayed at home by fifth ranked Alpo (17-8) 79-47 on Saturday. Alpo dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Vicenza's 18. Sofia Marangoni (177-1995) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and guard Elisa Mancinelli (177-1993) chipped in 16 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Alpo players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Milena Mioni (182-2001) responded with 13 points and 5 rebounds and guard Monica Tonello (168-1988) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Vicenza's coach Sandro Sinigaglia gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Alpo maintains fifth place in A2 with 17-8 record. Loser Vicenza keeps the thirteenth position with 20 games lost. Alpo will meet at home league's second-placed Udine in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vicenza will play against Scrivia (#6) and hope to secure a win.
