Second Stage Round 1: Fabriano - Cantu 74-73

The most exciting game of round 1 in the Serie A2 took place in Fabriano. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of Cantu to Fabriano 74-73 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Fabriano made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Hungarian forward Damian Hollis (203-1988, college: GWU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. American Arik Smith (185-1993, college: Cal Lutheran, agency: Players Group) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Lorenzo Bucarelli (198-1998) answered with 17 points and 6 rebounds and guard Francesco Stefanelli (191-1995) added 17 points in the effort for Cantu. Four Cantu players scored in double figures. Fabriano are looking forward to face Piacentina in Piacenza in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cantu will play at home against Chiusi having rather not much hope for a victory.
