There was no surprise when 16th ranked Bernareggio (5-22) was outleveled on the road by eighth ranked Desio (14-13) 81-60 on Sunday. It was an exceptional evening for Gabriele Giarelli (200-1993, agency: BIG) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Point guard Mattia Molteni (191-1996) accounted for 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Four Desio players scored in double figures. Tommaso Ingrosso (206-1992, college: W.Texas CC) came up with 17 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized Nigerian center Adam Abba (211-2004) added 13 points and 7 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) respectively for Bernareggio in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Desio moved-up to sixth place in B, which they share with Vicenza and Fiorenzuola. Bernareggio lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the sixteenth position with 22 games lost. Desio will meet at home Olginate (#15) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bernareggio will play against Jesolo and hope to secure a win.
