The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Granada as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Granada defeated 10th ranked Alicante at home 67-53. Granada forced 21 Alicante turnovers. The best player for the winners was point guard Lluis Costa (187-1993, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 9 points and 6 assists. Point guard Christian Diaz (185-1992) chipped in 11 points. American-Nigerian guard Zaid Hearst (194-1992, college: Quinnipiac) produced 15 points and Dutch forward Joey van Zegeren (208-1990, college: Northwestern, agency: Duran International) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Alicante lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Acunsa GBC. Alicante will play next round against Coruna trying to get back on the winning streak. Granada will try to continue on its current victory against sixteenth ranked Juaristi ISB in Azpeitia.
