The game between fourth ranked Lyon (14-6) and 8th ranked Gazelles (8-12) in Lyon ended with biggest points difference. Lyon beat guests from Montpellier 77-60. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gazelles. They outrebounded Gazelles 41-29 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lyon players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Gazelles' players. Worth to mention a quality performance of Canadian center Kayla Alexander (193-1991, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and international power forward Alexia Chartereau (189-1998) who added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. American-British guard Sydney Wallace (173-1993, college: Georgia Tech) responded with 21 points and American forward Haley Peters (190-1992, college: Duke) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lyon moved-up to second place, which they share with Villeneuve and Landes. Gazelles at the other side keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. Lyon will play against league's leader Bourges on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gazelles will play against Tarbes (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
