Second Stage Round 7: Cibona - Zadar 89-80
Date: April 20, 2022
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Zadar (23-6) in Zagreb on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by Cibona (23-6) 89-80. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Zadar. It was a key game for the top position in the league. It was a great evening for international power forward Roko Prkacin (206-2002) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Lovro Gnjidic (197-2001, agency: BeoBasket) helped adding 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Cibona players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Trevor Thompson (210-1994, college: Ohio St.) responded with 19 points and 9 rebounds and the former international forward Dario Dreznjak (204-1998) scored 17 points. Zadar's coach Vladimir Anzulovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cibona have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with defeated Zadar. Cibona is looking forward to face Zabok (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Zadar will play against Split (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
