Rather expected game in Sinj where 12th ranked Osijek (7-22) was defeated by ninth ranked Alkar (11-18) 80-73 on Thursday. Alkar made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. American guard Patrick McGlynn (188-1992, college: URI) fired 26 points and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Mladen Tomasevic (203-2003) chipped in 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Australian-South Sudanese guard Kuany Kuany (201-1994, college: Chaminade) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and Serbian swingman Mladen Grusanovic (200-1997, agency: BeoBasket) added 26 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alkar maintains ninth place with 11-18 record. Osijek lost their fifth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 22 games lost. Alkar will meet higher ranked Skrljevo (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Osijek will play against Sibenka (#8) and hope to secure a win.
