Bakken eased past Randers for the opening victory. Bakken made 17-of-20 charity shots (85.0 percent) during the game. Bakken outrebounded Randers 39-22 including 25 on the defensive glass. American center Travis Taylor (203-1990, college: Xavier, agency: Slash Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and Kenyan forward Tylor Ongwae (201-1991, college: ULM) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four Bakken players scored in double figures. Bakken's coach Anders Sommer felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Brandon Randolph (187-1995, college: Utah Valley) responded with 31 points and 5 assists and the former international guard Jonathan Klussmann (190-2002) scored 14 points.
