Regular Season Round 30: Tenerife Naut. - Alcobendas 65-87

There was a small surprise when fifth ranked Alcobendas (17-12) outplayed one of their biggest challengers Tenerife Naut. (17-12) in Santa Cruz 87-65 on Saturday. Jorge Tejera (200-1992) notched 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and forward Alberto de la Torre (201-1994) supported him with 20 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots). Four Alcobendas players scored in double figures. Alcobendas' coach Jose Antonio Ramirez felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 24 points and 5 rebounds by American-Dominican Eddy Polanco (190-1994, college: SE Louisiana) did not help to save the game for Tenerife Naut.. Ivan Roters added 8 points and 7 rebounds. Alcobendas moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with defeated Tenerife Naut. Alcobendas will meet at home Alcala (#7) in the next round. Tenerife Naut. will play against Quintanar (#15) and hope to secure a win.
