There was an upset in Veneto where higher ranked Ponzano (11-15) was defeated by twelfth ranked Treviso (7-19) 79-73 on Saturday. Treviso dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Ponzano's 24. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Croatian Klaudia Perisa (180-1996) had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Michela Volpato (174-1997) chipped in 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Dutch center Richelle Van Der Keijl (196-1993, college: N.Mexico) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 18 rebounds and point guard Viviana Giordano (175-1989) scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Ponzano players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Treviso maintains twelfth position in A2 with 7-19 record. Loser Ponzano keeps the seventh place with 15 games lost.
