Everything went according to plan when tenth ranked Santander (14-16) outplayed at home bottom-ranked Zarautz (9-21) 83-54 on Saturday. Santander dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Zarautz's 18. They outrebounded Zarautz 44-22 including a 34-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mali-American power forward Nouhoum Bocoum (208-1992, college: Arkansas St.) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Beninese center Soulemane Chabiyo (198-1996) supported him with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Even 17 points and 5 rebounds by Angolan swingman Erickson Silva (192-1993) did not help to save the game for Zarautz. Center Imanol Arteche (200-2002) added 5 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Santander maintains tenth position in Group A-A with 14-16 record. Loser Zarautz stay at the bottom place with 21 games lost.
