The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Ilicitano's (1-11) home loss to seventh ranked Sueca (5-8) in Elche 63-72 on Saturday. Forward Vicent Santamatilde (197-1994) notched a double-double by scoring 12 points and 18 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Carlos Gil (185-1993) supported him with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Even 16 points by forward Jose Luis Ibanez (198-2000) did not help to save the game for Ilicitano. Forward Jorge Lledo (203-1980) added 11 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Sueca maintains seventh position in Group EDesc1 with 5-8 record. Ilicitano lost fifth consecutive game. Ilicitano at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth place with 11 games lost. Sueca will meet at home higher ranked Alginet B (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ilicitano will play against the league's second-placed Carolinas (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
