The game between closely ranked teams ended with one of their biggest challengers Rieti Kienergia's (19-8) home loss to third ranked Rieti Real (21-7) 62-82 on Sunday. Swingman Federico Loschi (196-1990) fired 25 points for the winners. Naturalized Argentinian point guard Nicolas Stanic (180-1984) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists. Guard Marco Timperi (194-1997) produced 13 points and 9 rebounds and center Edoardo Tiberti (203-1997) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Four Rieti Kienergia players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Rieti Real have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 21-7 record behind leader San Miniato, which they share with Omegna. Loser Rieti Kienergia dropped to the second place with eight games lost. They share the position with Bisceglie. Rieti Real will meet at home Jesi (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rieti Kienergia will play against Montegranaro (#15) and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the Serie A2 just one year after relegation.
