Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked Fos-Provence (16-13) won against on the road 15th ranked Monaco (9-20) 95-91 on Sunday. Fos-Provence made 23-of-29 free shots (79.3 percent) during the game. Fos-Provence outrebounded Monaco 47-36 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Fos-Provence made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for Nelson Cece (200-2002) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Kevin Minar (195-2004) helped adding 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side Monaco guard Nicolas Vanel (193-2003) responded with 22 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals and Monaco center Jordan Ratton (203-2001) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Fos-Provence. They maintain ninth place with 16-13 record. Monaco lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fifteenth position with 20 games lost. Fos-Provence will meet higher ranked Bourg (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
