Regular Season Round 31: ASVEL - Pau-Lacq-Orthez 95-67

There was no surprise in Villeurbanne where 6th ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (20-9) was crushed by first ranked ASVEL (27-1) 95-67 on Tuesday. ASVEL dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Pau-Lacq-Orthez's 36. ASVEL forced 23 Pau-Lacq-Orthez turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for forward Kenny Kasiama (206-2003) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points. Gambian center Babacar Mbye (212-2002) helped adding 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four ASVEL players scored in double figures. ASVEL's coach Anthony Brossard felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side Madiba Owona (193-2004) responded with 19 points and swingman Marc-Olivier Lasserre (199-2002) scored 13 points. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for ASVEL. They maintain first place with 27-1 record. Loser Pau-Lacq-Orthez dropped to the fourth position with nine games lost. They share it with Dijon. ASVEL will meet Gravelines (#16) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will play against Orleans (#17) and hope to secure a win.
