Bottom-ranked Maccabi Rishon managed to get a sixth victory, breaking the three-game losing streak on Saturday night. This time they edged seventh-ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv in Rishon Le-Zion 78-75. Maccabi Rishon looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American power forward Kaleb Wesson (208-1999, college: Ohio St.) fired 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. The other American import point guard Tu Holloway (183-1989, college: Xavier) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists. Four Maccabi Rishon players scored in double figures. Cameroonian-American forward JP Tokoto (200-1993, college: UNC) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international guard Bar Timor (190-1992, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 13 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Hapoel Tel-Aviv's coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Maccabi Rishon maintains twelfth position with 6-20 record. Loser Hapoel Tel-Aviv dropped to the fifth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with H.Galil Gilboa and H.Galil Elion. Maccabi Rishon will meet higher ranked Hapoel Beer Sheva (#11) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will play against Hapoel Eilat (#9) and hope to secure a win.
