The game between closely ranked teams ended with eleventh ranked Amphora's (8-23) home victory over bottom-ranked Medvescak (3-28) 75-71 on Saturday. Amphora looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American point guard Donald Morris (180-1993) nailed a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 assists for the winning side and Marko Marcelic (-1996) accounted for 21 points. Morris is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Amphora's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Roko Spaseski (-2002) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and guard Kristijan Vladovic (185-1999) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively for Medvescak in the defeat. Four Medvescak players scored in double figures. Amphora have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Newly promoted Amphora maintains eleventh place with 8-23 record. Medvescak lost fifth consecutive game. Medvescak at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay dead last with 28 lost games. Amphora will meet higher ranked Kvarner 2010 (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Medvescak will play against Samobor (#9) and hope to secure a win.
