Fifth-ranked Galil Elion (13-14) made lots of trouble for second ranked Maccabi Tel-Aviv (18-9) in Kfar Blum on Saturday. The visitors from Tel Aviv managed to secure only three-point victory 71-68. However their fans expected easier game. The best player for the winners was American-Turkish guard Scottie Wilbekin (188-1993, college: Florida, agency: BeoBasket) who scored 16 points and 5 assists. American forward James Nunnally (201-1990, college: UCSB) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Maccabi Tel-Aviv's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward DJ Kennedy (198-1989, college: St.John's) produced 16 points and 6 assists and international Nimrod Levi (208-1995) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Galil Elion players scored in double figures. Maccabi Tel-Aviv have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 18-9 record having just four point less than leader H.Jerusalem. Defending champion Galil Elion keeps the fifth position with 14 games lost.
