Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Ionikos (6-17) lost to second ranked Olympiacos (21-1) in Aigaleo 78-86. The guests were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 25-22 Ionikos' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 86-78 at the end of the game. Strangely Ionikos outrebounded Olympiacos 42-30 including 28 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. French center Moustapha Fall (216-1992) stepped up and scored 6 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and the former international point guard Kostas Sloukas (190-1990) chipped in 6 points and 10 assists. Olympiacos' coach Giorgos Bartzokas used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side the former international center Loukas Mavrokefalidis (207-1984, agency: Network Sports International) responded with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Daniel Hamilton (201-1995, college: UConn) scored 8 points, 9 rebounds and 12 assists. Four Ionikos players scored in double figures. Olympiacos have an impressive series of fifteen victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Ionikos at the other side keeps the twelfth place with 17 games lost. They share the position with Iraklis. Olympiacos will play against Kolossos HH (#3) in Rodou in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Ionikos will play on the road against Larissa BC (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
