Regular Season Round 33: Monaco - Nanterre 87-66

There was an upset when higher ranked Nanterre (11-20) was crushed on the road by sixteenth ranked Monaco (10-21) 87-66 on Tuesday. Monaco shot 30 for 41 from the free-throw line, while Nanterre only scored ten points from the stripe. Monaco forced 19 Nanterre turnovers. The best player for the winners was Monaco guard Nils Gasser (178-2001) who scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Forward Matys Pommier (196-2002) chipped in 20 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Samuel Eyango-Dingo (206-2001) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Zulemie Nathan (187-2004) added 14 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Monaco moved-up to fourteenth place. Nanterre lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 20 games lost. Monaco will meet league's second-placed Cholet on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nanterre will play against Strasbourg (#16) and hope to secure a win.
