No shocking result in a game when third ranked Metropolitans (24-9) defeated on the road 7th ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (17-15) 86-71 on Tuesday. Metropolitans forced 21 Pau-Lacq-Orthez turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American point guard Will Cummings (188-1992, college: Temple) stepped up and scored 18 points and 9 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winners and Bosnian forward Miralem Halilovic (205-1991, agency: PEPI SPORT) chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds. Five Metropolitans players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Brandon Jefferson (175-1991, college: MSU Denver) with 20 points and 5 assists and Slovenian Gregor Hrovat (196-1994, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Metropolitans maintains third place with 24-9 record behind leader ASVEL. Loser Pau-Lacq-Orthez keeps the seventh position with 15 games lost. Metropolitans will meet at home Paris (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will play against Chorale de Roanne (#13) and hope to secure a win.
