The game without a history. Cluj Napoca led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to Pitesti's 26. Cluj Napoca forced 23 Pitesti turnovers and outrebounded them 50-28 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Pitesti's players. The former international Nandor Kuti (196-1997) notched 15 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and Bosnian-Croatian center Andrija Stipanovic (208-1986, agency: BeoBasket) supported him with 16 points and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Five Cluj Napoca players scored in double figures. Cluj Napoca's coach Mihai Silvasan felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 16 points by forward Dragos Axinte (190-2002) did not help to save the game for Pitesti. Montenegrin forward Goran Gajovic (199-1988, agency: 011 Sports) added 12 points and 6 rebounds for the guests.
