Haukar used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Reykjavik 104-53 on Wednesday night. The game without a history. Haukar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 37 IR turnovers. Haukar looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Haukar made 7 blocks. American guard Keira Robinson (170-1994, college: VCU) nailed a double-double by scoring 17 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists and 7 steals for the winning side and guard Solrun Gisladottir (180-1996, college: Co.Georgia) accounted for 22 points and 5 assists. Four Haukar players scored in double figures. Haukar's coach Bjarni Magnusson felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Anika Hjalmarsdottir (176-1997) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and guard Rebekka Hjalmarsdottir (171-2004) added 8 points and 12 rebounds respectively for IR in the defeat.
