Regular Season Round 1: Baerum Basket - Gimle 64-82

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Baerum Basket in Bekkestua on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by Gimle 82-64. Gimle forced 21 Baerum Basket turnovers. The former international guard Jorgen Odfjell (197-2000) stepped up and scored 38 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 16-of-19 shooting from the field) for the winners and Serbian-Montenegrin center Milovan Savic (205-1987) chipped in 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side the former international guard Stian Mjoes (183-1989) responded with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international forward Sjur Dyb Berg (201-1996, college: Alaska-Anch.) scored 4 points and 20 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gimle is looking forward to face Tromso at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Baerum Basket will play against Froya Basket and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
