Regular Season Round 1: Fjolnir - Selfoss 52-89

Very significant was Selfoss' 37-point road victory against Fjolnir 89-52. Selfoss dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Fjolnir's 26. They outrebounded Fjolnir 32-13 including 22 on the defensive glass. American-Dutch Gerald Robinson (203-1984, college: UT Martin) nailed a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Isak Perdue (186-2003) accounted for 17 points and 6 assists. Selfoss' coach Chris Caird felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Hilmir Arnarson (195-2005) came up with 16 points and 6 assists and guard Karl Birgisson (198-2004) added 14 points respectively for Fjolnir in the defeat. Selfoss will play against Hrunamenn in Fludir in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Fjolnir's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Reykjavik to the arena Armann.
