Regular Season Round 1: Alftanes - Thor AK 90-85

Alftanes used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Akureyri 90-85 on Friday night. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Alftanes looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Point guard Dui Jonsson (183-2001) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. American forward Cedrick Bowen (198-1992, college: Charleston So.) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds. Four Alftanes players scored in double figures. Alftanes' coach Kjartan Kjartansson used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Tarojae Brake (195-1997, college: St.Peter's) produced 30 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his ten free throws !!!) and Croatian power forward Toni Cutuk (208-1999) added 19 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Alftanes will meet Hamar on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Thor AK will play against IA and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
