WKS Slask used a home court advantage and rolled over the opponent from Stargard 99-66 on Saturday night. WKS Slask outrebounded Spojnia 44-21 including a 34-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for WKS Slask especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Spojnia's players. The former international forward Jakub Niziol (201-1996, college: Cal Poly) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and international point guard Lukasz Kolenda (195-1999) chipped in 23 points and 4 assists. Four WKS Slask players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international swingman Karol Gruszecki (198-1989, college: UT Arlington) responded with 15 points and American guard Isiah Brown (180-1997, college: Weber St.) scored 15 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. WKS Slask will meet Legia in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Spojnia will play against Enea Astoria and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
