Rather expected game in Kopavogur where Breidablik was crushed by Keflavik 88-58 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-58. Keflavik made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 26 Breidablik turnovers. The best player for the winners was Venezuelan Daniela Wallen (179-1995, college: Okla City) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals. The former international forward Birna Benonysdottir (187-2000, college: Binghamton) chipped in 23 points and 7 rebounds. Four Keflavik players scored in double figures. The former international forward Isabella Sigurdardottir (187-1997) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Sabrina Haines (178-1997, college: Kentucky) added 11 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Keflavik will meet at home Haukar in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Breidablik will play against Grindavik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
