Regular Season Round 2: Poitiers - Chartres 71-80

There was a minor upset when Poitiers was defeated at home by C'Chartres 80-71 on Saturday. C'Chartres dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Poitiers' 38. The best player for the winners was naturalized Guyanese forward Gide Noel (200-1993) who scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. American power forward Anthony Smith (201-1997, college: Murray St.) chipped in 20 points. American swingman Marcus Relphorde (198-1988, college: Colorado) produced 16 points and 6 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and center Jonathan Jeanne (218-1997) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five C'Chartres and four Poitiers players scored in double figures. C'Chartres will meet at home Toulouse in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Poitiers will play against Rueil and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
