Hamar used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Kopavogur 111-43 on Sunday night. The game without a history. Hamar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Breidablik B to just 6 points in second quarter. Hamar held Breidablik B to an opponent 19.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 47.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Hamar forced 41 Breidablik B turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Breidablik B's players. It was an exceptional evening for forward Gigja Orsteinsdottir (182-2002) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Emma Hakonardottir (180-2005) accounted for 17 points for the winning side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hamar will meet Thor AK (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Breidablik B will play against Athena (#8) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
