There was a minor upset when Gran Canaria lost to Unicaja in Malaga 63-70 on Sunday. Unicaja forced 24 Gran Canaria turnovers. Bosnian-German Nihad Djedovic (197-1990, agency: BeoBasket) notched 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and American-Montenegrin point guard Kendrick Perry (183-1992, college: YSU) supported him with 11 points. Even 14 points and 7 rebounds by American-Lithuanian John Shurna (204-1990, college: Northwestern) did not help to save the game for Gran Canaria. French power forward Damien Inglis (204-1995) added 12 points for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Unicaja will meet at home Real Madrid in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gran Canaria will play against Zaragoza and hope to win that game.
