Regular Season Round 2: Gliwice 2 - Resovia 85-119

There was a minor upset when Gliwice 2 was crushed at home by Resovia 119-85 on Sunday. Resovia dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Gliwice 2's 44. Resovia forced 22 Gliwice 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 42-25 including a 30-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Gliwice 2's players. The best player for the winners was Konrad Mamcarczyk (190-1994) who scored 29 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Power forward Wojciech Watroba (210-1997) chipped in 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Aleksander Busz (202-2004) produced 30 points and Filip Maciejewski (192-2005) added 18 points respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Resovia will meet at home Bielsko-Biala in the next round. Gliwice 2 will play against Iskra Cz in Czestochowa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
