Regular Season Round 2: Kotka - Kataja 90-76

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Kataja on the court of Kotka on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by Kotka 90-76. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 90-76. American point guard Brandon Sly (180-1996, college: ASU) scored 23 points and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Brandon Tabb (193-1995, college: BCU) chipped in 24 points during the contest. Tabb is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American forward Galin Smith (206-1998, college: Maryland) responded with 22 points and 9 rebounds and American-Nigerian forward Amaze Egekeze (203-1995, college: Belmont) scored 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four Kataja players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kotka is looking forward to face Lahti at home in the next round. Kataja will play against Kobrat and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
