Regular Season Round 2: Moncalieri - Faenza 88-85

Moncalieri used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Faenza 88-85 on Wednesday night. Moncalieri forced 19 Faenza turnovers. The former international forward Marzia Tagliamento (183-1996) scored 35 points (!!!) to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Kathryn Westbeld (190-1996, college: Notre Dame) chipped in 24 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Nigerian forward Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah (188-1997, college: Northwestern) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 18 rebounds and American guard Jori Davis (178-1989, college: Indiana) scored 16 points. Four Faenza players scored in double figures. Faenza's coach Simona Ballardini tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Moncalieri will meet San Martino in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Faenza will play against Brescia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
