Kouvot outlasted Lahti in overtime by three points 92-89. The game took place in Lahti. But the guests from Kouvola were better at the end. Lahti was ahead by 3 points after three quarters before a 22-19 charge of Kouvot, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 10-7. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Deshon Taylor (188-1996, college: Fresno St.) notched 31 points to lead the effort and guard Austin Butler (196-1999, college: Charlotte) supported him with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Even 27 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals by point guard Devon Thomas (183-1994, college: Texas Tech) did not help to save the game for Lahti. Forward Trejon Jacob (196-1998, college: FIU, agency: One Motive Sports) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Five Kouvot and four Lahti players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Kouvot will play against Korihait in Uusikaupunki in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lahti will play on the road against Kotka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
