Kauhajoki used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Salo 82-73 on Wednesday night. Vilpas was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Cameron Jones (193-1989, college: NAU, agency: BIG) who scored 20 points. International Henri Kantonen (198-1997, agency: Blacktop Management) chipped in 13 points and 9 rebounds. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Kauhajoki players scored in double figures. American Isaiah Crawley (201-1998, college: Georgia South) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Jalon Pipkins (193-1998, college: PFW) added 12 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Kauhajoki will meet Seagulls in the next round. Vilpas will play against Pyrinto and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
