Regular Season Round 1: Cadi La Seu - Jairis 51-64

We should mention about the upset which took place in Seu D'urgell, where Cadi La Seu lost at home to Jairis 51-64 on Wednesday. Jairis outrebounded Cadi La Seu 47-30 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mozambican forward Tamara Seda (193-1994, college: UTEP) stepped up and scored 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and the former international Belen Arrojo (188-1995) chipped in 6 points and 12 rebounds. At the losing side American power forward Taylor Koenen (188-1998, college: UNC, agency: LBM Management) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and guard Laura Pena (173-1998) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jairis will meet Gran Canaria in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Cadi La Seu will play against Estudiantes in Madrid and hope to win that game.
