Regular Season Round 3: Keflavik - Haukar 75-66

The biggest surprise of round 3 in Subway League took place in Keflavik where host Keflavik (3-0) beat Haukar (2-1) 75-66 on Wednesday evening. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-66. Keflavik forced 19 Haukar turnovers. The best player for the winners was Venezuelan Daniela Wallen (179-1995, college: Okla City) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. Bulgarian point guard Karina Konstantinova (173-1999, agency: Elite Basketball Agents) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Keflavik's coach Hordur Vilhjalmsson used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Keira Robinson (170-1994, college: VCU) who recorded 21 points and 9 rebounds and guard Tinna Alexandersdottir (177-2003) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Haukar will play next round against Grindavik trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Keflavik will try to continue on its current victory against Valur in Reykjavik.
