Regular Season Round 3: Grindavik - Breidablik 65-77

There was a minor upset when Grindavik (1-2) was defeated at home by Breidablik (1-2) 77-65 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 42-28 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Breidablik dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Grindavik's 28. It was a great evening for Serbian-Hungarian swingman Sanja Orozovic (186-1990) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Sabrina Haines (178-1997, college: Kentucky) helped adding 15 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American guard Danielle Rodriguez (177-1993, college: Utah) with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Slovenian forward Elma Dautovic (187-2001, agency: Interperformances) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Four Grindavik players scored in double figures. Breidablik will meet at home Fjolnir (#7) in the next round. Grindavik will play against Haukar in Hafnarfjordur and hope to win that game.
