Regular Season Round 3: Kouvot - Korihait 81-90

There was a minor upset in Kouvola where Kouvot (1-2) was defeated by Korihait (1-2) 90-81 on Friday. Kouvot was trailing by 10 points at halftime but managed to get 6-point lead after three quarters before a 31-16 charge of Korihait, which allowed them to win the game. Korihait outrebounded Kouvot 46-29 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Bosnian point guard Bojan Sarcevic (190-1988) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Guard Trey Niemi (185-1998) helped adding 20 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American guard Austin Butler (196, college: Charlotte) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import guard Deshon Taylor (188-1996, college: Fresno St.) scored 20 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Korihait will meet at home Kotka (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Kouvot will play against Nokia where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
