Regular Season Round 1: DSN Riga - NSK 27-70

There was an upset when Latvian DSN Riga was crushed at home by Estonian NSK 70-27 on Friday. NSK held DSN Riga to an opponent 14.8 percent shooting from the field compared to 48.3 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded DSN Riga 46-27 including a 32-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sepo Hiiemae stepped up and scored 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Tormi Reivelt chipped in 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four NSK players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Erlens Rukers responded with 8 points and 7 rebounds and forward Kristers Vecvagars scored 7 points. DSN Riga's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. NSK will meet at home Admirals in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. DSN Riga's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Riga to the arena East Ball.
