Regular Season Round 3: Gorizont - BDU Tsmoki 83-53

The biggest surprise of round 3 in Premier League took place in Minsk where host Gorizont (2-0) crushed BDU Tsmoki (3-1) 83-53 on Friday evening. Gorizont dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to BDU Tsmoki's 28 and made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Gorizont forced 21 BDU Tsmoki turnovers and had a 29-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by BDU Tsmoki's players. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Yuliya Vasilevich (165-2001) who scored 15 points and 7 assists. The former international center Anastasiya Verameyenka (195-1987) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Ekaterina Eremeeva (173-2002) who recorded 20 points and 4 steals and Maryia Anishchanka (178-2003) added 3 points and 8 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. BDU Tsmoki will play next round against RGUOR trying to make it back to the top of the standings. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Minsk - RGUOR. Gorizont will try to continue on its current victory against Gomel on the road.
