The most surprising game was a loss of Kouvottaret (1-1) on the court of Vimpelin Veto on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by Vimpelin Veto in overtime 85-82. Kouvottaret trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 19-8 run in the last quarter tied the game at the end of regular time, But then they lost eventually overtime period 7-10. Vimpelin Veto forced 20 Kouvottaret turnovers. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for guard Tynice Martin (180-1997, college: WVU) who led her team to a victory scoring 28 points and 4 steals. Forward Shayla Cooper (188-1995, college: Ohio St.) helped adding 16 points and 14 rebounds. The best for the losing side was swingman Tierra Hodges (175-1998, college: Furman) with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Makeda Clarke-Nicholas (185-1996, college: Delaware) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocks. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vimpelin Veto are looking forward to face Forssan Alku (#10) on the road in the next round. Kouvottaret will play against Marsky Helsinki (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
