Regular Season Round 3: Merelbeke Hawks - Spirou B 87-83

Rather expected game when Spirou B (0-3) was defeated on the road by Merelbeke Hawks (1-1) 87-83 on Saturday. It was a great evening for swingman Plamedi Ngolo (194) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds. Point guard Jean Bonsenge (180-1999) helped adding 32 points and 4 steals. The best for the losing side was Dutch point guard Nino Vrencken (190-2003) with 26 points and American forward Nashaun Ellis (198-2000, college: LSUA) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. Five Spirou B players scored in double figures. Spirou B's coach Marc Delporte rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Merelbeke Hawks will meet Ieper (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Spirou B will play against Kortrijk (#1) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
