Rather predictable result when Espoo Team (2-0) smashed on the road Catz Lappeenranta (0-2) 107-53 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Espoo Team. Catz Lappeenranta managed to win fourth quarter 19-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Espoo Team dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Catz Lappeenranta's 38 and made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game, while Catz Lappeenranta only scored three points from the stripe. Her fellow American import power forward Carmen Tyson-Thomas (175-1991, college: Syracuse) chipped in 25 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Raziyah Farrington (173-1997, college: Charleston) who recorded 30 points and 7 rebounds (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) and forward Elli Heikkila (181-2002) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Espoo Team will meet at home Peli-Karhut (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Catz Lappeenranta will play against Torpan Pojat (#5) in Helsinki and hopes to get finally their first victory.
