Not a big story in a game when Cesena was outscored at home by Firenze 89-64 on Sunday. Firenze dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Cesena's 32. Marco Lagana (197-1993) notched 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Lorenzo Passoni (197-1997) supported him with 22 points and 5 rebounds. Five Firenze players scored in double figures. Even 20 points, 5 assists and 4 steals by point guard Gianluca Pierucci (182-2000) did not help to save the game for Cesena. Power forward Isacco Lovisotto (206-1998) added 12 points and 10 rebounds for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Firenze will meet at home Senigallia in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Cesena will play against Fabriano and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
