Regular Season Round 3: Bertanu - Talsi 54-72

The most interesting game of round 3 was a derby match between two teams from Latvia. The game took place in Valmiera where Talsi won against host Bertanu (1-4) 72-54. The game was mostly controlled by Talsi. Bertanu managed to win second period 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Bertanu to just 7 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Bertanu 39-20 including a 26-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Karlis Skilins who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds. Tailers Tigers contributed with 17 points for the winners. Ernests Abols answered with 15 points and Marcis Kockeris (-2007) added 8 points in the effort for Bertanu. Bertanu's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win.
