Regular Season Round 1: Audentes - Daugavpils 57-86

There was a minor upset in Tallin where Estonian Audentes were crushed by Latvian Daugavpils Universitate 86-57. Daugavpils Universitate dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Audentes' 24. Daugavpils Universitate forced 23 Audentes turnovers and outrebounded them 61-45 including 18 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Latvian center Valerija Baranovska (180-2003) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Latvian forward Lauma Poikane (178-2003) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Four Daugavpils Universitate players scored in double figures. Guard Kayla Frier (173-2007) answered with 19 points and 8 rebounds and forward Lisa Sirgi (194-2007) added 7 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Audentes. Daugavpils Universitate will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Audentes will play on the road against LCC Tarp. in Klaipeda to get more than just one victory in their record.
