Regular Season Round 3: Faenza - Brescia 82-66

Faenza used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Brescia 82-66 on Sunday night. Faenza dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Brescia's 26. They outrebounded Brescia 39-17 including a 31-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Faenza looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Jori Davis (178-1989, college: Indiana) who led the winners and scored 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Nigerian forward Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah (188-1997, college: Northwestern) accounted for 18 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winning side. American guard Brooke Johnson (183-1996, college: UNLV) came up with 17 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and guard Carlotta Zanardi (180-2005) added 13 points and 6 assists respectively for Brescia in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Faenza will meet Valdarno (#12) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Brescia will play against San Giovanni and hopes to get finally their first victory.
