Very important is a home loss of third ranked Koping Stars (3-2) against top-ranked Jamtland (2-0) on Monday night. Host Koping Stars were crushed by Jamtland in Koping 98-67. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Koping Stars. Jamtland made 25-of-32 charity shots (78.1 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Koping Stars 40-23 including a 32-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Jamtland especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. Koping Stars were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for the former international forward Pierre Hampton (201-1991) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Phil Carr (206-1995, college: Morgan St.) contributed with 22 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Jamtland players scored in double figures. American forward Travis McConico (198-1997, college: Charleston So.) replied with 23 points and his fellow American import forward Juwan Gray (203-1996, college: Towson, agency: Blacktop Management) added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Koping Stars. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Jamtland moved-up to fourth place. Koping Stars at the other side keep the third position with two games lost. Jamtland will play against league's leader BC Lulea at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Koping Stars will play against Uppsala and hope to get back on the winning track.
